CJ Woldanski
Current West Ranch Player

You’re a big history buff. Tell us what period is your favorite and why.
Well, my favorite part in history is probably the American Civil War because it had many great generals on both sides like Robert Edward Lee, Thomas Jonathon Jackson, James Ewell Brown (JEB) Stuart, Joshua Lawrence Chamberland, William Tecumseh Sherman, and Ulysses Simpson Grant.
If you could transport yourself back to any place in time, where would you go and why?
I would probably go back to December 13, 1862. I would pick that because it is one of my most favorite battles in the Civil War ( Fredericksburg). I like that battle because it showed the strength of the Confederate army during the early years of the Civil War. And they massacred the Army of the Potomac at Marye’s Heights.
Describe your first season playing high school football. Is lining up across from someone and then punching them in the mouth as much fun as I think it is?
In my first season of playing West Ranch Football, I had a lot of fun. I learned a lot of different swear words I never learned before. Thanks to Deacon Jones for all of the head – slaps that he inflicted on his opponents, they changed the rules so we couldn’t do any of that stuff. But I imagine that it would be great. I was more of benchwarmer, but I enjoyed my time playing football.
What is your favorite baseball memory?
My favorite baseball memory was when I was in my first year of Pony on the American League Twins. We were in the playoffs and I was brought in, in the second inning, because our starter couldn’t hit his spots. I pitched five innings allowing no runs and I finished the game with 11 strikeouts and our team knocked the other team out of the playoffs. I also had three hits in that game including a triple (Yes, a triple), because the right fielder fell down.
If you hit a bomb to win a game and your family offers to take you out to dinner, where would you go and what would you order?
I would go to Claim Jumper and order a huge, gigantic burger, because Coach Burrill is not the only one on the team who has a big appetite. Just look at the initials, CJ.
If you could attend any sporting event on the globe, which event do you choose?
It’s a tossup, the Super Bowl or the seventh game of the ALCS between the Red Sox and the Yankees.
If you could take any girl on the planet to the Winter Formal, who would it be?
Well I was going to say Carmen Electra, but she’s been touched more than a doorknob, so I’ll probably have to say Eliza Duscha.
Name three of your favorite bands.
My three favorite bands are: ACDC, Led Zeppelin, and Credence Clearwater Revival. But I have many more favorite rock bands like: Pink Floyd, The Doors, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Queen, David Bowie, and Alice Cooper.
Which one of your teammates is most likely to show up on American Idol someday?
I would probably have to say that Hansen guy. I wonder if he’s related to the Hansen brothers.
Is there someone in your life that has been an inspiration to you? An athlete, an adult, a friend?
My parents have been an inspiration to me because they have taught me the right things to do and to be polite to others, and they also told me to listen to what people are going to say and to follow the correct advice.
Have you enjoyed your time in the West Ranch Baseball program so far?
Yes, I have enjoyed my time in the West Ranch Baseball program because I love to play baseball and want to learn more about the game so I could become a better, and complete ballplayer.
What do you hope to accomplish at West Ranch over the next four years?
I hope that I could be the starting pitcher for all four years, and to have a batting average of .350. I also want to be able to say what I want at the basketball games. I also want to have a 4.0 GPA so I could go to college. I’ll go to any college that accepts me. Clown college; Barber College, or even USC. But I would prefer to go to the University of Texas. But in the mean time, I’m here at West Ranch and I hope to give it my all for the West Ranch Baseball Team. Go Wildcats!!!
