Troy Hansen
Current West Ranch Player

Is it true that you are the only guy on the team who can out-eat Charlie Gillies?
Of coarse it is true. If we were in a hot dog eating contest I would blow him away.
Do you get a lot of heat from coaches or players for your long hair?
Not so much from players but I do get a lot from coach Burrill and coach Priske.
What is your favorite baseball memory?
My favorite baseball memory would have to be making the West Ranch baseball team.
What three bands would make the greatest concert of all time?
The three bands would have to be Queen, Styx, and Supertramp. (Editor’s note: You’ve got to be kidding me with these hair bands!)
What is your favorite sports movie and why?
My favorite sports movie would have to either Bull Durham or The Bad News Bears. They are both hilarious and they are both great baseball movies.
If you could choose from any girl on the planet, who would be your ideal date?
Mischa Barton.
If you could attend any sporting event anywhere in the world, what would you go see?
If I could see any sporting event it would have to be the World Series and have to be at Turner Field.
Tell us something about Troy Hansen that nobody knows.
I am really bad at the electric guitar.
Your family has a tradition of being involved in sports. Was it a no brainer that you would continue the line of athletes in your family?
Well my sisters think they are athletes, but all they do is cheerleading, so I think it was a no brainer that I would be the next athlete even though it wasn't the sport my Dad or my Grandpa would have agreed with.
Describe your experience at West Ranch so far.
My experience so far has been OK. I just haven't done anything to prove myself yet and hope to return to my old self like I was in the summer, but my coaches and teammates have been great.
What do you hope to accomplish during your four years here?
First off I want to be the starting Center Fielder. I would like to have a fielding percentage of one thousand. Have a batting average above .300 and an on base percentage above .400. I want to become a smarter outfielder and baseball player.
Is there someone, an athlete, an adult, a friend, that you look to for inspiration?
The person who inspires me the most has got to be my dad. He always helps me with whatever sport I am doing and he has always pushed me to do better. If I make a bad play he is always there to get on my case and help me improve in whatever it was. If I make a good play he is there to pick out the details that would have made that play even better. He taught me the game of baseball and I would be no where today if it weren't for him.
