Charlie Gillies

Current West Ranch Player

Is there any truth to the rumor that there is not a single person on the team (coaches excluded of course) that can out-eat you at a buffet?

Of course it’s true, that’s why I do a couple of extra sit-ups in practice. I have to burn off what I ate the night before. My record, for right now, is a 5x5 from IN-N-OUT. The only person that might come close to me is Troy Hansen.

Travis Sreden is a great kid that makes us all smile on and off the baseball field. You do excellent impersonations of him. How often are you asked to imitate some of Travis’s lingo? Talk about your friendship with him.

I am asked all the time. In fact, I was offered a $100,000,000,000 deal to do Travis impersonations at the super bowl. I’ve known Travis a long time. We were both on a winterball team together in mustang together.

You’re one of the more enjoyable personalities on this team and you seem to get along with everyone. Talk about your experience with West Ranch baseball so far.

I am having a great experience with WR baseball so far. I have had a lot of fun and I think I’ve lost a few pounds from all of coach Priske’s Russians.

What is your favorite baseball memory?

My greatest baseball memory was from this summer when I was playing short stop and Paul Hammons hit a line drive a few feet from me. I ran too far ahead of it and the ball hit me in the bill of the hat.

Is reality television entertaining or just morally bankrupt programming?

I don’t know. All I do is watch it.

If you were the CEO at MTV, what bands would you like to see getting the most run?

Probably, The Beets from Doug, the guy who made the music for Pokemon, Nsync, and Led Zeppelin.

If you could take any girl on the planet to the Homecoming Dance, who would you choose?

Well if my mom wasn’t available I would probably take Michael Jackson. He could probably teach me the moon walk.

Tell us something nobody knows about Charlie Gillies.

I’m way more of a Napoleon Dynamite fan than Shawn Miller. I hate hair in my food.

What are the best and worst Christmas gifts you ever received?

The best Christmas gift I ever got was probably my favorite video game, Tony Hawk’s Underground. The worst Christmas gift I ever got was a tooth brush.

Have you ever read a book that wasn’t school related? If so, what was the book about?

I read a book called Skeleton Key. It’s about a kid that’s a spy and he works for MI6.

Is there someone in your life that has been an inspiration to you?

My dad inspires because he works hard to provide for me and my family.

What do you hope to accomplish at West Ranch during the next four years?

In the next four years at West Ranch I want to become a very good baseball player and have a B average.
