1. What are some of your most favorite baseball memories? Well, I have many great baseball memories. I've played the game since I can remember and just stopped playing a few years back, so all in all, there are plenty of awesome moments to choose from. To be quite honest, however, my greatest baseball memory does not include one of my performances. That honor goes to my brother, Josh, who currently plays baseball at USC. My greatest baseball moment, undoubtedly, is being there to see him get his frist hit in a Trojan uniform. That is something I will never forget.
2. What is the best sports movie of all-time? Without a doubt, the best sports movie of all time is 'Hoosiers'. I've seen it so many times that I could just about quote the movie from start to finish. I still get goosebumps when Jimmy hits the game winning shot. Awesome sports movie.
3. Besides baseball, what are some other sports you like? This is a tough question to answer. I suppose basketball is my second favorite sport . Actually, when I was growing up, hoops was my first choice to both play and watch. It's really a great game when it's played the right way. I'm a big college hoops fan becasue I think it's still played with some purity. That is not to discredit football, hockey, and even English Premier League soccer. We all know about the gridiron and the action on the ice, but for those out there that haven't heard of the EPL, tune in. As an avid sports fan, I appreciate it and recommend it.
4. Who is the most influential person in your life? This is a no brainer. The two most influential people in my life are my
dad, Steve, and my mom, Suzanne. I am who I am today because of them. I could not ask for better parents. From Little League to College and from Elementary to University, they were always there for me and supported what I wanted and the choices I made 100% of the time.
5. If you could invite any three people to dinner, who would they be? Okay, this is difficult. For me, Jesus Christ is invited without a doubt in my mind. This choice really needs no explanation. Now the other two are tough choices. I suppose I could invite Ghandi, but would he eat? No. The question dealt with dinner invitations, so he's gotta be out. Anybody who has been around our coaching staff understands that fasting is completely unacceptable. Sorry Ghandi. My second choice is Napoloen. After all, I am a History major, so this makes sense for me. And my final choice would be Jackie Robinson.
6. If you were stuck on an island, who would you wnat to be stranded with? This all depends on if I ever want to get off the island. If I did, I would want...Oh who cares, I'm stuck there, so be it. I'm going to pick Anna Kournikova and spend the rest of my days with her. To increase my tennis skills of course.
7. Where would you like to visit? Well, I obviously have many places to choose from. I've always wanted to travel throughout Europe and the first place I would want to visit would be Ireland.
8. If you were having a concert in your backyard, what 3 bands would play? First would be Tom Petty. After that, I'd probably select Aerosmith and Blink 182. This concert would rock.
9. Who wins in a fight, Maximus Des Meridius of Gladiator, or William Wallace of Braveheart? Maximus wins. I've actually been asked this many times before, and my answer is always the same. In fairness to Wallace, I liked 'Braveheart' better of the two films. But Maximus wins in a great fight.
10. What is your favaorite playoff sport? Granted, playoff hockey is terrific. The only thing I would answer as more exciting than the NHL playoffs would be New York Yankees playoff baseball. I live and die with every pitch.
11. What would you have for your last meal? I would probably go to the finest restaurant somewhere in Italy and get me a plate of some real Italian food with a genuine Italian aura about it. No, The Olive Garden does not count.
12. If you were on American Idol, what song would you be singing? ' New York, New York' by Frank Sinatra (Let's Go Yankees).
