Brett Davis
Current West Ranch Player

You were raised in Corvallis, Oregon. Has it been a difficult transition moving to Southern California?
I lived in Oregon for 10 years and I was actually born at Scott AFB, IL. The transition was difficult at first, but getting involved with the Hart program made me realize that it wasn’t so bad. Nice weather too!
Is the level of competition different here than in Oregon?
There is some pretty good talent in Oregon, but with being able to play year-round here, it tends to make you advance quicker.
Do you still follow the Oregon State Beavers?
GO BEAVS! My family follows the football program and I hope they do well.
What is your favorite baseball memory?
Getting the hit for the go-ahead run to advance to the state finals in Oregon where, unfortunately, we fell short and finished second.
How are you adapting to high school baseball and high school life overall?
I am adapting very well and I am enjoying the experience. The schoolwork hasn’t been too bad yet, but I’m sure it will become more challenging. I am looking forward to the next four years.
You are a great communicator on the baseball field. Where did you acquire your knowledge of the game?
I acquired almost all of my knowledge from my dad. My dad and I work on baseball “things” just about every night. My last coach in Oregon, Dave Minktin, also had a big influence. He got in our faces a lot, but was very fair.
Have you ever read a book that wasn’t school related? If so, what was the book about?
Reading is not my favorite activity. Give me a Sports Illustrated or ESPN The Magazine.
Carmen Elektra seems to be a popular choice on this team for the perfect homecoming date. Who would you take the homecoming dance given the choiceof any girl on the planet?
Carmen is hot, but I’m going to have to go with Cameron Diaz.
You’re on a bus ride to an away game and you’ve got the headphones on to get motivated to play ball. What CD are you listening to?
Led Zeppelin’s Greatest Hits followed by ACDC.
You’ve just hit a game winning double in the bottom of the 7 th inning. Where do you go to celebrate?
Hooters! The wings are awesome.
What is bigger news…the 2004 Presidential Election or Brittany Spears getting married?
The Presidential Election. I didn’t even know Brittany was getting married.
You are a part of the history making, first ever baseball team at West Ranch. Are you excited about being a Wildcat and what do you want to accomplish at WR during the next four years?
I am very excited about being a part of the first ever WR baseball team. I want to contribute in any way I can. I believe that I will contribute through my leadership and abilities. I hope that this experience will take me to the next level. I intend on taking the ride as far as I can.
