My favorite player is Jorge Posada of the New York Yankees because he has overcome so much with his disease and made it to the big leagues. I also like him because, of course, he is a catcher.

 

My most memorable moment was when I hit my first home run in the PONY Sectional Tournament against SIBL in the 7th inning. That was great!

 

I would love to be an All-CIF catcher like coach Burrill was and play for the NY Yankees as a starting catcher. (Editor’s note: I’ll be taking Mr. Browne to Angel Stadium so we can get over this whole ‘Yankee’ thing.)

 

It is a funny story. Back in Mustang 1, I was a shortstop, no doubt. We had a scrimmage, and the catcher wasn't there. I somehow got the gear on and never looked back. From then on I was a catcher. I don't mind the pressure that if a man is on third and that man is the winning run, I will still be able to block or catch without freezing up.

 

My favorite sports movie is “Gladiator”. Just kidding! It is “Major League”. My favorite character is “Willy-Mays” Hays.

 

Football. I would love to be a quarterback and lead a fourth-quarter drive to win the game.

 

My dad is the most influential person in my life because he has been with me when I have made bad or good decisions with my life. He is always there to support me and give me criticism on my play on the field.

 

My strengths are strong leadership, good baseball talent, and a positive attitude towards playing the sport.

 

It feels great. Five years ago I had just started playing baseball and who would have thought I would be where I am today. (Before going to baseball, I played football as a QB.)

I see myself being an awesome catcher for West Ranch High, hopefully All-CIF, and taking the CIF Title. Wouldn’t that be great! (Editor’s note: The thought of West Ranch winning the CIF title in 4 years makes me want to get my funk on!)
