Andrew Reed

Current West Ranch Player

You’re one of the most competitive people I’ve ever been around. You absolutely hate to lose at anything. How many video game controls have you busted in your life?

I have only broken two in my life. The first one broke on its own, and the second one I accidentally ripped out the analog stick.

You have a great sibling rivalry with your brother Chris. Who wins when you guys compete at the same game? Has it ever come to blows?

Well, when it comes to video games, he might as well not even try. I take him down no matter what. In baseball, it can get pretty hectic, and in football, we just try to hit each other as hard as we can. I live for the family competition. Bring it on!

You’re a great trivia player and you seem to do real well on history questions. What is your favorite time period and why?

I love the time period of the two greatest wars in the history of the world, World Wars One and Two. I am fascinated by all the battles and how, event by event, the wars are stopped. I really missed history this year. (So does CJ, he tells me every day!)

What is your favorite baseball memory?

Probably when I was playing with my travel baseball team in Palmdale. It was the bottom of the sixth, one out, and the bases were loaded. I laid down a sweet squeeze bunt and Brett Bradbury scored from third to win the Championship. It was awesome

Name the top three rivalry games in all of sport.

Number 3 would be Yankees vs. Red Socks. Number 2 would have to be USC vs. UCLA. Number 1 is Giants vs. Dodgers. GO GIANTS!

Name three bands you would have on your iPod and tell us what music would drive you crazy?

The three bands would be Led Zeppelin, Green Day, and Queen. The music that would drive me crazy would be country and polka. I will never understand polka

If you could take any girl on the planet to the school dance, whom would you choose?

Catherine Zeta Jones

Is there an adult or athlete that you admire or has been an inspiration to you? Tell us why.

My Dad has been an inspiration because without him I wouldn’t be on the baseball team right now. He always is there to congratulate me when I perform well or help me when I am playing poorly. He also gives me great tips on hitting and fielding even though sometimes I don’t what to hear it.

Name the three best sports movies of all time.

The three best sports movies ever are Bull Durham, Hoosiers, and Major League. Sorry Aaron, Sandlot is a close runner-up.

What do you hope to accomplish in your four years at West Ranch?

I would like to be an All- CIF second-basemen and become a better hitter. I also would like to keep at least a 3.5 GPA and attend a UC school. (USC would be sweet)

Tell us something about you that nobody knows.

I can ride a unicycle and juggle 3 baseballs at the same time. If baseball somehow doesn’t work out, circus here I come!

Describe your experience in the baseball program so far.

Baseball here at West Ranch has been absolutely incredible. We have 4 great coaches that love what they do, and we have a phenomenal team. Coach Priske’s throwing program has strengthened my arm to its best ever. We get to play everyday and that is truly a privilege. We have worked hard in the preseason and I’m looking forward to having a great season. GO WILDCATS
